Why was Ramón Adedoyin sentenced to death?

An Osun State High Court on Monday convicted Dr. Ramon Adedoyin of killing Timothy Adegoke, a former master’s student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. In November 2021, Adegoke, who had slept at the Adedoyin Hilton hotel in Ile-Ife, was discovered dead. Shortly after Adegoke’s mysterious death, Roman was arrested. Judge Adepele Ojo, Chief Justice of Osun State, found Adedoyin and two hotel staff members guilty of the murder in 2021 on Tuesday, May 30. After more than two hours of deliberation, the judge ruled that there was circumstantial evidence that Adedoyin killed Adegoke while he was a guest at the hotel. Adedoyin’s alibi was thrown out by the judge. The owner insisted that when Adegoke checked in, he was not present at the hotel.

Adedoyin’s refusal to testify, in Judge Ojo’s opinion, ended his case because he was now responsible for proving his case. The two imprisoned hotel workers are Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem. Along with Ramón Adedoyin, the judge found them guilty and sentenced them to death by hanging.
