- Go to https://ahara.kar.nic.in/ to access the authentic website of the Karnataka State Food Commission. Click the link at the bottom of this page to open the portal.
- Find the Direct Benefit Transfer portal in the Beneficiary or Schemes section.
- You can find the Anna Bhagya program through the DBT website.

To do so, people need to open the website of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, https://ahara.kar.nic.in/. Now, in the e-Ration submenu, you can find the provisions for the application and generation of the new ration cards. The application will be available in two languages: Kannada and English. People can select any language according to their preferences. Now do the following steps.
- Once you have chosen the language option, you will be given three options: New Ration Card Application, Edit Saved Application, and Withdraw Application. If you are applying for the first time, choose one option first and if you want to make changes to your existing ratio card, choose the second option. If any user wants to withdraw the request, they can use the third option.
- So, if you are applying for a new ration card, click on the first option, “Apply for New Ration Card”.
- Then they have to enter their Aadhar and mobile numbers and tap on the ‘Go’ button.
- Now users have to select a unique password for the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar option. After clicking, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP received from Aadhar and captcha code, and press the “Go” button again.
- On successful verification of the OTP and captcha code, your Aadhar details such as your name, date of birth, gender and photo will flash on the screen.
- Next, the user needs to tap on the “Fingerprint Verification” option to authenticate.
- They must then click the “Capture” button to capture their finger print using the Bio Metric device. Once you have entered the captcha, click the “Verify” button.
- Users’ Aadhar details are displayed on the screen after successfully capturing fingerprints.
- Review your Aadhar card details on the screen and tap on the “Add” button to generate the application number.
- Now select the address and click again on the “Next stage” button.
- Then the system will automatically select the area and fair price stores according to the code specified in the address. Users in the urban area must select City from the drop-down menu.
- When selecting the location, also specify your neighborhood number and area. Rural users need to select Panchayat from the drop down list and Village Gram Panchayat.
- On selecting Panchayat/City, press the “Next Stage” button.
- Now choose the female head of the family. Remember that the female age must be over 18 years old. Otherwise, they may select the eldest male member as the head of the family.
- Also, select the remaining family members by tapping on the “Select” option.
- After assignment, click on the “Save” button option.
- If you want to extract a ration, tap “Yes”; Otherwise, tap the “No” option.
- If the user selects the “Yes” option, press the Go button to submit the request.
- After doing this, a sample copy of the ration book will be displayed on the screen.
- While checking the specimen details, click on the Generate RC button to generate your ration card.
- Users can also print their ration card by clicking on the “Print” button.
- The authorities will send the hard copy of the ration cards to the selected address through express post. Users have to pay Rs 70 as service charge.
