Personal life
Rushad Rana was born on November 19, 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He completed his graduation from the University of Mumbai. Rushad married Khushnum but they divorced in the year 2013. She later married Ketaki Walawalkar in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai on January 4, 2023. The ceremony was attended by the duo’s family and close friends.

Career
Television
Rushad began his career with an episodic role in the crime drama television show CID aired on Sony Entertainment in 1998. The following year, he appeared in the drama series Hip Hip Hurray as Raghav in 1999. He rose to fame playing the lead role of Siddharth. Singhal in the drama serial Ghar Ek Mandir in 2000. In 2001, he appeared as Aniruddh Basu in the Star Plus drama serial Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the show was produced by Ekta Kapoor and became a household name. He later acted in a few episodes of the horror series Ssshhh… Koi Hai which aired on Star Utsav from 2001 to 2002.
From 2002 to 2003, Rushad acted in the drama series Kehta Hai Dil as Nikhil Bhandari. That same year, he starred in the series Kumkum: Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan as Dr. Rohit Kapoor in 2002. In 2011, he appeared as Sumeet Kapoor in the long-running fantasy drama show Colors Sasural Simar Ka. From 2014 to 2015, he starred in the MTV series Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan as Professor Raghav. Rushad recently appeared in popular TV shows like Kumkum Bhagya and Anupamaa in lead roles.
Movie
Rushad made his debut with the film Jahan Pyaar Mile in 1999. He played Gurukul Boy in the romantic musical drama film Mohabbatein in 2000 alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. He appeared in the film Veer Zaara directed by Yash Chopra as Sahir in 2004. The following year, he appeared in the film Mr. Ya Miss as Ravi in 2005.
In 2006, Rushad acted in the film Dor as Amir Khan. He acted in the short film City of Lakes as Harish in 2010. He played the role of Persus in the 2015 mystery film The Path of Zarathustra. In 2017, he appeared in the action-historical drama film Rangoon as Hoshang Billimoria, Julia’s love interest. Rushad starred in the 2019 horror film 3rd EYE. He did a drama film Nail Polish as Yashpal Sharma in 2021.
