It is always said that it is not good to enter the police record since it ruined the person’s career. And that is true, but still, some rare criminals commit crimes and endanger people’s lives. Only they know how they commit such a crime despite knowing the consequences of it. There are many cases that are available to read on the web in which we can find the details of serious crimes. The news presents one more case that becomes the reason for the death of 8 people along with 11 injured. This news is quite scary to hear and the incident sent shock waves through all social media.
The suspect was identified as Sayfullo Saipov, whose mugshot is making the rounds on the web. He is a 33-year-old Uzbek national blamed for carrying out the terrorist attack in Lower Manhattan in New York City. This incident is not new as it occurred on October 31, 2017 but the wounds from this crime are still fresh. Reports indicate that the suspect drove a rented van into the crowded bike lane resulting in the killing of 8 people and injuring many others. After the horrific attack, the police officers shot the suspect and placed him in police custody, and ultimately in charge.
Reports indicate that the suspect’s last court hearing is on Monday, March 13, 2023. During the investigation, police learned that he was highly inspired by ISIS propaganda and took an oath of allegiance to the group before taking to carry out the lethal attack. On October 13, 2017, the suspect rented the van and struck joggers and cyclists along the Hudson River Park bike path in Lower Manhattan. As we mentioned earlier, 8 people were killed and 12 others injured. Of these 12 injured, 6 were foreign tourists.
Not only that, but he also crashed the truck into the school bus and the suspect exited the truck wielding what appear to be 2 handguns, but later found to be a pellet gun and a paintball gun. The police fired at him and arrested him. Police searched the truck and discovered the flag along with the oath document that it was the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorist group. In 2010, the suspect was transferred to the US from Uzbekistan. He was indicted by the federal grand jury on charges of 8 murders. Other than that, he was charged with 12 attempted murders, destroying a truck, and also supporting the terrorist organization.
