Sonakshi Kar was born on June 10, 2003 in Kolkata, West Bengal, in a Bengali Hindu family. Her father’s name is Ujjwal Kar and her mother’s name is Shampa Kar. Since childhood, Sonakshi wanted to become a singer and started learning music from Jayant Sarkar. He also received semi-classical training from Deep Chakarborthy.
Sonakshi started her career through the children’s singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Bangla aired on Zee Bangla in 2011. In 2014, she participated in Indian Idol Junior, where she was among the top 6 contestants. Later, she was seen in SaReGaMaPa lil Champs aired on Zee TV channel. She became the show’s first finalist. In 2022, Sonakshi was seen competing on Sony TV’s popular show Indian Idol.
