The 9th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair showcases the latest technologies

The 9th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) kicked off on Thursday. Its theme is “Technology Creates a World” and it will showcase new technologies in digitization and green development.

Since 2013, the show has been performed eight times. As an important venue for displaying advanced technologies, the fair not only connects innovative resources, but also strengthens international exchanges and cooperation in the field of technology trade.

This year’s CSITF, which took place from June 15 to 17, attracted nearly 1,000 companies from China and other countries. The event focused on an open global industrial chain and a technology-driven future.

digital, green focus

For CSITF 2023, the exhibit areas have been set up to focus on digitization and green growth.

This year, there are five main exhibition areas covering a total of 35,000 square meters. These areas are thematic pavilions, energy and low carbon technology, digital technology, biomedicine and innovation ecology services.

A technical cooperation zone for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is also part of the fair. This area brings together the results of technological cooperation and innovation from the BRI countries.

Smart and innovative robots

China’s new electric tilt-rotor aircraft is one of many cutting-edge new products receiving a lot of attention.

The aircraft has a large carrying capacity and makes little noise. It can take off and rest vertically using electric power (eVTOL).

The E20 eVTOL was manufactured by Shanghai TCab Technology Co., Ltd. It is intended to have a maximum range of 200 kilometers, a cruising speed of 260 km/h, and a top speed of 320 km/h.

Huang Yongwei, founder and CEO of Shanghai TCab Technology, said it is a green and sustainable product that meets the needs of future three-dimensional urban transportation systems. It is mainly used for low-altitude tourism and air taxi.

“It is a way of moving that allows you to move short distances between 30 and 150 kilometers between cities or within cities. The price of a ticket for this air taxi will be about the same as for a regular taxi, but it will be five times faster.

Huang said the plane will make its maiden flight this year and should be ready for mass production as planned in the future.

Also making its debut at the show is an electric rice transplanter that uses satellite navigation and positioning services to plant seeds without human help.

Li Changxing, technical adviser with Shanghai Diantian Network Technology Co., Ltd., said, “The working path of the machine is pre-programmed by computer, and theoretically it can work 24 hours a day.”

At this year’s fair you can see the first sowing and fertilizer distribution robots, as well as robotic rice transplanters.
