The Texas drug dealer murdered along with his pregnant girlfriend in a suspicious deal gone bad didn’t shy away from his illicit behavior, wielding wads of cash in photos posted to social media.
Matthew Guerra, 22, and Savanah Soto, 18, who was nine months pregnant, were found shot to death on December 26, four days after she reportedly missed her scheduled induction date.
Her alleged killer, Christopher Preciado, 19, was arrested and charged with murder on Wednesday after he allegedly admitted to killing the young couple inside Guerra’s car, but claimed he had acted in self-defense, police records show. .
Preciado’s father, Ramón Preciado, was arrested along with his son for allegedly helping move the bodies of Guerra and Soto after they and their unborn child were murdered.
Christopher Preciado allegedly told officers that Soto and Guerra had driven to his house to sell him marijuana when Guerra pulled out a gun, an arrest affidavit obtained by Express News states.
The accused killer claimed he fought with the drug dealer over the gun and shot him and his pregnant girlfriend in the process.
Police, however, stated that the story is inconsistent with the gunshot wounds Guerra and Soto suffered.

Ramón Preciado allegedly helped his son move the bodies to the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex in San Antonio.
San Antonio investigators believe drug trafficking played a role in the murders.
Guerra’s family told police shortly after the bodies were found that he was involved in selling drugs and often posted photos on social media of the drugs and cash.

“People wanted to rob the boyfriend and it was said that he had been shot before,” the affidavit states.
Ramon Preciado denied the alleged theory that drug dealing went wrong when he was bundled into a police cruiser on Wednesday night, shouting at reporters who asked him if he had any remorse.
“Always fake news… Don’t you regret lying in what you are saying? You don’t even know what’s going on. You just make things up like always,” Ramón Preciado said.
The Preciados were located after police released surveillance footage earlier this week showing two men at the crime scene.

One suspect was behind the wheel of Guerra’s Kia Optima, pulling into a parking lot next to a dark pickup truck driven by the other suspect.
The man in the truck then grabbed a white towel and wiped the Optima’s door before they both left.
Police believe Soto and Guerra were already dead and inside the car when the video was taken.
Soto’s cell phone was later found next to his body, which proved crucial in tracking down the crime scene, leading police directly to the security video.

That vehicle took police to a home where they found the father and son. He said Ramon Preciado answered the door and cooperated with the investigation.
“He knew why the police were there,” police Sgt. Washington Moscoso during a press conference Wednesday night.
Christopher Preciado was charged with capital murder, while his father faces charges of abuse of a corpse, police said. More charges are pending.
