Although the weather was gloomy, there were many bouquets of flowers and homemade signs with messages like “the one where we all lost a friend.”
These were placed on the southwest corner of Bedford and Grove, near the Little Owl Restaurant. (It’s worth noting that while “Friends” was primarily filmed in Los Angeles, the exterior shots of Monica and Rachel’s apartment were taken at 90 Bedford Street in New York.)
“It feels strange to feel sad about this, but it really has been a sad morning.” said Catherine Schmitt, 29, who brought flowers to Variety.
“It’s been my comfort show for as long as I can remember. “I can’t imagine looking at it now without feeling deep sadness.”
While Matthew Perry’s acting career included roles in other television series such as “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and films such as “The Whole Nine Yards,” his name became inseparable from the endearing and sarcastic character Chandler Bing.
