The person entered the facility promptly at 2:30, exactly the time scheduled for his meeting with the principal in the main lobby. They interacted with an employee who called the manager and was informed that he would be there shortly, in a minute.

However, at 2:45, after waiting 15 minutes, the individual decided to leave. They felt that waiting for such a long period was unnecessary, considering their knowledge of the industry.

They were concerned about the experience, seeing it as a sign that the company may be intentionally testing the patience of candidates to determine their desperation and possible willingness to tolerate mistreatment.

Many other people had similar experiences.

The post opened a Pandora’s box of competing views, which were displayed in the comments section.

A user was told that an interview for a position started approximately 30 minutes late, but upon arrival, was immediately informed of an ongoing issue that caused the delay.

Consequently, the user waited in the lounge until he was finally able to continue with his interview. The crucial aspect was that someone immediately communicated the reason for the delay instead of leaving them waiting without explanation.

Another user experienced an unfortunate situation when their recruiter went on vacation without rescheduling a phone screen interview before leaving. Consequently, the applicant was left waiting on a Zoom call for approximately half an hour without the company knowing.

It was only after the applicants themselves left the call that they were later contacted. While there might have been an attempt to reschedule the interview, the applicant expressed reservations about proceeding with it in such circumstances.

Another user who regularly conducts interviews with candidates says that the main priority is to ensure the punctuality of scheduled interviews. The interviewer believes that being on time for the interview is of the utmost importance and that everything else can be addressed later.

The interviewer emphasizes that making candidates wait, especially when they are not being compensated for their time, is incredibly disrespectful.
