The half-eaten body of the little girl was found in the vicinity of Sri Narasimha Swamy temple situated halfway on the Alipiri footpath. Additional SP Muniramaiah, the victim was with her family. They were trekking in Tirumala. Muniramaiah also asserted that the victim was a native of Pothireddy Palem village of Kovvurru mandal in Nellore. When the members of the family noticed that the 6-year-old girl was not with them, they embarked on a search but despite their relentless efforts to find the girl they could not find her.

Meanwhile, the family of the missing girl filed a missing complaint with the Two Town police station on Friday night after reaching the hill town. Immediately, the police started an intensive search operation along with forest and TTD vigilance to find the girl. The team found the half-eaten body of the girl in a thick bush after tracing the blood stains and pieces of flesh. Meanwhile, the police claim that the wild leopard took the girl first onto the boulder and later stored her in a bush after eating half of her body. SP Muniramaiah said, “We are scrutinizing all the video grabs. A few grabs showed the girl moving with her family members but the footage relating to the attack is still to be found.
