The bride asks the guests to bring gifts worth at least Rs 4,000 or more

Most couples are grateful for any gift, no matter the cost, whether it’s money, utensils, or home decor. However, a woman was mocked online after she insisted that wedding guests spend at least $50 (Rs 4,129) on gifts from her.
The bride reasoned that it would be a “slap in the face” for them (her and her family) to receive a cheaper gift after spending so much money on the wedding.
According to the Mirror, the bride found it offensive that people attended functions empty-handed. She further said that she required this because her wedding would have an open bar plus food, which would cost $150 (Rs 12,338) per person, which is why she believed a minimum expenditure on gifts was appropriate.
This was shared by the woman on Facebook and later on Reddit. She questioned social media users whether it was impolite to indicate on invitations that gifts of $50 or more are required. She also mentioned that she and her fiancée have many family members who prefer to show up empty-handed at events where they can afford to bring something.
She said the dishes are $150 apart from the open bar.
The woman seemed to believe that her love language was receiving gifts, and she thought it appropriate for people to come to the wedding with a gift of at least $50, which is affordable.
The bride reportedly added another post in which she explained that she “wouldn’t have a wedding to get gifts,” but at the end of the day it was all about love.
She said the dishes are $150 plus an open bar and when a person doesn’t bring anything just because they “felt like it,” it feels like a slap in the face, especially given the occasion.
