UP School Summer Vacations 2023: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed officials at a recently held high-level meeting to extend the summer vacation in basic schools from June 15 to June 26 in view of the scorching heat conditions.

UP School Summer Holidays 2023 – In view of the intense heat, the Uttar Pradesh government has extended the summer holidays to June 26, 2023. Previously, schools were scheduled to reopen on June 15. However, the opening date has been extended. by the Government. The official notification has been issued by the Uttar Pradesh department of education.

The official tweet from the Uttar Pradesh Department of Basic Education reads: “In view of the scorching heat in municipal schools, the summer holidays have been extended until June 26. Previously, schools were supposed to open on June 15, but now schools will open on June 27, 2023.”

The Chief Minister had instructed officials at a recent high-level meeting to extend the summer holidays in basic schools from June 15 to June 26 in view of the scorching heat conditions.

Subsequently, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council issued a notice to all District Basic Education Officers saying that the council’s schools will remain closed until June 26 and will reopen on June 27.

The School Management Committee will be authorized to make decisions about summer vacations in schools recognized by the council. It is worth mentioning that, according to the order issued in December 2022, summer vacations were declared in basic schools for 27 days and winter vacations for 15 days. A total of 42 days of summer and winter vacation were allowed, according to the statement.

Pratap Singh Baghel, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, said: “With the approval received from the Director of (Basic) Education, the summer vacation period in the basic schools/schools recognized by the Uttar Basic Education Council Pradesh has been extended from May 20, 2023 to June 2.

Director General of School Education Vijay Kiran Anand said: “Extremely hot conditions with the possibility of heat stroke due to sun exposure in the state are forecast in the coming days. Extreme heat may have adverse effects on the young children. With this in mind, the summer holidays have been extended until June 26. Classes will start from June 27. Until then, the children of the basic schools will continue with the study and the tasks assigned during the summer vacation via ‘Diksha App’. an alert has been issued as the Meteorological Department warns of severe heatwaves in many districts of the state.”
