Reports suggested that police arrested a member of Islamia University Bahawalpur’s staff amid the crackdown against the culprits possessing videos and images of the students of the university. A complaint filed with Baghdad Al Jadid Police Station reads, “Upon searching, eight grams of ice [crystal methamphetamine] was found from the right pocket of Muhammad Altaf. Altaf confessed to taking ice” This complaint was lodged for possessing, trading, and financing narcotic drugs under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act. Before Altaf’s arrest, the police arrested the chief security officer of the University Syed Ijaz who was found with drugs in his possession and allegedly connected to the absence content of the university’s female officials and students on his phone. The finance director of the university Abu Bakar was also found suspect in relation to the same. Court approved a judicial remand of Ijaz Shah till July 24.
