What are the signs of Laylatul Qadr?
Laylat-al-Qadr is considered the holiest eve of the Islamic calendar and also the night of power. Angel Jibril revealed the first verses of the Holy Quran to the Prophet Muhammad, during this night. Tonight falls within the last 10 days of Ramadan, and the exact data is still unclear. It is known as the 27th day of the Sacred Month. This is a night of devotion to Allah, great commemoration, and places over 1,000 months.
Rewards in Laylat-al-Qadr:
On Laylat-al-Qadr, when you complete good deeds, your fast increases in reward. A single act of kindness bestows the blessings of 1,000 months, tonight. Devoting your day to worship and performing these deeds on the holiest night will extend your taqwa. Be sure to commit yourself to the teachings of the Holy Quran and recite them helping those most in need, thus fulfilling one of the five pillars of Islam. The Night of Power occurs in the final 10 days of Ramadan. “Look for it on the odd nights of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan,” advises the Prophet Muhammad.
The Night of Power is neither shorter nor longer than any other night. However, during Ramadan, many Muslims sacrifice their sleep on this holy day to pray and worship Allah. it is believed that giving up sleep so that Allah can meddle and undertaking good deeds will result in forgiveness of all previous sins. Laylat-al-Qadr calls for prayer and much reflection. It is believed that Allah sees and answers people’s prayers during this night. Ramadan induces many people to reflect and it is the night when the transcendence increases.
As the Prophet Muhammad received the first verses of the Qur’an on the last ten nights of Ramadan, these days are believed to be the most important days of the holy month.
