Who discovered that the lady’s iPod had been running on loop for over a decade?
Recently, Sydney Utendahl took to TikTok to share an amazing view of her grandmother’s house, where a years-old Apple iPod was connected to a Sony speaker and set the mood with some old songs.
What happened to the iPod?
Sydney soon discovered the astonishing truth behind her grandmother’s old iPod and was too stunned not to share her discovery on the Internet. She discovered that her grandmother had plugged in that iPod over a decade ago and it had been playing songs non-stop for the past 10 years. Yes, you read that right!
Why didn’t grandma ever turn it off?
Sydney said: “So I told my grandmother that her iPod was playing and she told me not to touch it.”
He explained that his 90-year-old grandmother had no idea how to turn the device on or off. All she knows about the device is how to turn the volume up and down and that’s how she has been using the iPod for over a decade without ever turning it off.
How was the iPod connected?
The iPod was connected to an old Sony speaker deck that was plugged into the outlet. These two devices in cahoots worked hard for a decade to give the old lady the tunes she loved to listen to. Sydney was even afraid to get close to the devices: “I’m afraid to touch them, I feel like it won’t work anymore if I take it out of the dock or put it on pause.”
He wondered if this was some kind of record, given that the device had been working hard for more than a decade: “But this has to be some kind of world record. This is crazy.”
