Risby-Jonas allegedly left the Moon Beach Resort naked and proceeded to chase and beat people on the town’s main road, according to the Aceh-based Bithe media outlet. Shortly before 1 a.m., the Noosa man abused a fisherman from the village of Lantik, who suffered serious injuries requiring more than 50 tiches to the heel and fractures, Indonesian police told the publication in a written statement. Superintendent Jamitko also alleged that Risby-Jonas struck a security guard before leaving his resort. Jamitko said Risby went on a rampage and caused a scene by punching a security guard and then stormed out of the complex and ran off on a motorcycle.
Jamitko added that the fisherman’s injuries resulted from Risby-Jonas hitting him as he was passing by on his motorcycle and brazenly throwing the motorcycle at him after it fell into the ditch. The police chief said that, angered by the alleged behavior of the tourist, locals tried to burn down the complex. Due to the incident, the local people were enraged and set the resort on fire, but luckily the police officers managed to calm everyone down.
Later, during custody, Risby-Jonas made a major statement, he said, “I feel like I’m not myself, like I’m almost possessed,” it wasn’t a good feeling and it wasn’t me, but I’m a nice guy. . . The family also issued a statement on his behalf on Saturday stating that he is fully aware of his behavior and is extremely disturbed by his actions.
