A South Carolina woman who had given emotional interviews in 2015 about the murder of four members of her family, including her own mother, has now been arrested for the “bloody” quadruple homicide.
Amy Vilardi and her husband Rosmore “Ross” Vilardi were arrested Friday and charged with four counts each of murder in connection with the bloody Halloween slayings that authorities say “shaken the Anderson County community to its core.” deeper”.
Amy, who was living at the time on the same property as the victims but in a separate house, was the one who called 911 on Nov. 2, claiming to have stumbled upon the blood-soaked scene.
A few days later, he sat down with television station WYFF4 and described the moment he said he found the bodies of his loved ones.
“When I went to knock on the back door, the door just opened, so I walked in and it was dark, I turned on the light and there they were. They were just… they were there,” Amy said in apparent shock, with her husband sitting next to her.
“I don’t understand why all this has happened and I still think it’s a dream I’m going to wake up from,” he lamented. “Whoever did this, I don’t see how you can live with yourself.”

The Vilardis are accused of killing Cathy Scott, 60; Mike Scott, 59 years old; Barbara Scott, 80, and Violet Taylor, 82, at the victims’ home in Pendleton.
Cathy Scott was Amy’s mother and Violet Taylor was her grandmother. Mike Scott was the husband of Cathy Scott and the son of Barbara Scott.
Each victim was stabbed to death and then shot postmortem at least once, law enforcement officials said.
“They were brutally and senselessly murdered,” Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride said at a news conference announcing the couple’s arrests. “It was a bad scene. It was probably what some of our people would say was one of the worst things they had ever seen.”

In another interview at the time with news station 7News, Amy said her murdered relatives were “wonderful people” who “just didn’t deserve this.”
In the years since, the Vilardis have denied any connection to the murders.
The four victims were found stabbed and shot in their home on November 2, 2015, two days after their murders.
Despite their protests of innocence, the couple were named persons of interest in the murders in March, Fox Carolina reported.
“I think we knew this day was coming,” McBride told reporters Friday.
The sheriff declined to say what led investigators to finally arrest the Vilardis at their Columbia home after eight years.
“Some things need to be preserved for our day in court,” he said. “Anything you say, in terms of details, the other party can use against us.”
Vilardi, right, said in interviews that she was the one who found the bodies of her loved ones and called 911.
Likewise, no reason was given for the mass killing.
The Vilardis made their initial court appearances Saturday and were ordered held without bail. They are due back in court on February 20, 2024.
