Yash started his career with the romantic drama film Ram Teri Ganga Maili when he was a child artist and played the role of Ganga’s baby in 1985. The following year, he acted in the film Haathon Ki Lakeeren in 1986. He appeared in the comedy film. Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai? as Johnny in 2002. It is based on the American film American Pie. In 2004, he played the role of Dev in the sports drama film Rok Sako To Rok Lo. In 2005, he starred in the Bengali film Faltu as Faltu. It was nominated in India at the Spanish film festival in the competition category. He did a romantic film Loveshhuda as Vinayak Sen Gupta, Pooja’s fiancé in 2016.

Yash made his debut with the television series Balaji Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi as Lakshya Virani, the son of Ganga and Sahil, in 2000. He appeared in the drama film Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan as Siddharth in 2006. In 2009, he acted in the series Hum. Dono Hain Alag Alag as Varun Kothari. It’s about a couple of odd couples who get together. From 2009 to 2011, he starred in the television series Tere Mere Sapne as Sarju which aired on Star Plus. In 2013, he acted in the fantasy drama series Savitri-Ek Prem Kahani as Satya Choudhary and Senapati Veer. It is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Indian folklore of Savitri and Satyavan from the Mahabharata.
He did a television drama series Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin as Dr. Pulkit Deshpande, Devyani’s husband, in 2020.
