Recently, a video has gone viral showing a man galloping through the streets of Hyderabad holding a bag with the Zomato logo. This video comes at a time when gas pumps are seeing long queues due to truckers protesting the new hit and run rule.
Where did this incident take place?
The Zomato delivery boy arrived on horseback at Chanchalguda, which is located near the Imperial Hotel. The man was seen waving to the crowd after arriving on horseback.

In the video, the delivery man can be heard telling a passerby that he chose to ride a horse to deliver the food after the pumps ran out of fuel. When asked what had happened, the rider said, “Petrol nahi mila bhai. Teen ghante me khada raha. Petrol is not available on Zomato.” (There was no gas. I waited in line for three hours. I left after taking the order but couldn’t get the gas.)
Long queues formed on major roads in Hyderabad on Tuesday as a significant number of motorists gathered at petrol and diesel filling stations, leading to traffic jams at numerous points for some time, according to PTI.
How did the authorities react?
According to authorities, the traffic jam was under control by the afternoon. “There is availability (of fuel). People are worried that it is not accessible due to the agitation of truckers, so they flock to the gasoline pumps, which generates queues that extend to the roads, causing traffic jams at the beginning.” a senior police official told PTI.
According to a petrol shop owner, the city’s fuel supply has been affected by the truckers’ strike that has been going on since Monday. Barricades were also seen at some gas stations in the city, while some motorists reported that they could not refuel their vehicles because some of the gas stations were “closed”, causing problems for them.
