Education is a process that lasts a lifetime and transcends the boundaries of age. It is often said that “learning has no age limit” or “it is never too late to learn”. This sentiment emphasizes the idea that education is not limited to a specific period of life, but can be done at any stage, regardless of age.
Whether it’s acquiring new skills, gaining knowledge in a specific field, or simply broadening your horizons, education offers endless opportunities for personal growth and development. A man did the same at the age of 72; here is his story.

Sam Kaplan, 72, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, in the United States, is among the graduates of Georgia Gwinnett College who earned their diplomas this month. His 99-year-old mother also attended the graduation ceremony.
During this graduation season, he was the talk of the town, and when he walked to receive his diploma from Georgia Gwinnett College, he was enthusiastically applauded by the audience.
Kaplan has a degree in film production and video art. According to Fox News, Kaplan’s path to graduation was not normal. He never contemplated going to college after graduating high school in 1969. However, Kaplan had a chance encounter on the road four years ago that would change the course of his future.

“I was driving down the freeway when I heard on the radio that this title was available. The next exit was Collinsville, so I took that one and five minutes later I was registering for the class,” Kaplan explained.
With a background in screenwriting and having written two books, Kaplan decided to focus on film and media arts, according to the news outlet. “I’ve always loved writing and telling stories,” she remarked.
“I thought I could turn my stories into scripts, but first I needed to know what to do.” Kaplan said returning to the school after a 50-year absence was difficult but ultimately rewarding.
“It was exciting, nervous and challenging.” “It was a lot of fun learning to study again and interacting with the students,” Kaplan said. “I’m very excited and I feel very proud of myself for doing this.”
