Add an AOL email account in Outlook 2007
To add your AOL email account to Outlook, follow the instructions given in the correct sequence as given here:
- Open Outlook and click on the ‘File’ option found in the menu at the top.
2. Then click on ‘Information’ on the left panel and then click on ‘Add Account’
3. Select the ‘Manual configuration or additional server types’ checkbox and click ‘Next’
4. Select ‘POP or IMAP’ from the ‘Choose service’ menu and click ‘Next’.
5. Next, enter your name and AOL email address in the ‘User Information’ section.
- Under Server Information, select the desired Account Type of ‘POP3’ or ‘IMAP’ (IMAP is recommended)
- In the Incoming mail server box, type: ‘imap.aol.com’
- In the Outgoing mail server box, type: ‘smtp.aol.com’
In the Login Information section, type your full AOL email username and password and click ‘Next’; click ‘More settings’
6. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and select the checkbox that says “My server requires additional authentication”.
7. Click ‘Advanced’ tab and in Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Port, type ‘587’ and select ‘SSL’ for additional encryption, Incoming Server (IMAP) Port will change to 993 automatically; click OK’.
8. Doing so will add your AOL account to Outlook if you entered the correct information.
Add an AOL email account to Outlook 2019, 2016, and Office 365
If you’re using Outlook 2019, 2016, or Office 365, here are the steps you need to follow to set up AOL mail in Outlook:
1. Click on the ‘File’ option in the top menu of Outlook; select ‘Information’ in the left panel and then click ‘Add Account’.
2. Enter your AOL email address and then click ‘Connect’.
3. Next, enter your password for the AOL email account and then click ‘Connect’.
4. Click ‘Done’ when you see the message ‘Account setup is complete’.
