Apple releases iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 with new features and improvements

On September 18, iOS 17 will be ready for public download, introducing iPhone users to new features like Live Voicemail, StandBy mode, and a new Journal app. Apple made the announcement on Tuesday during its iPhone 15 launch event, after originally revealing the operating system on June 5 at WWDC.

On September 18, the full version of iPadOS 17 will also be available, offering new methods for iPad owners to interact with widgets and personalize their lock screen. iPadOS 17 works with 6th-generation iPad models, 5th-generation iPad minis, 3rd-generation iPad Airs, and 12.9-inch and later second-generation iPad Pro models. Apple’s website has a complete list of supported models.

Following the full release of iOS 17, users will be able to create customizable stickers, set up contact banners, and benefit from other autocorrect and voice transcription improvements. Some people had already had access to the updated iPhone operating system, so we knew what to expect: members of Apple’s developer program, for example, were able to download it almost immediately after the WWDC keynote, and the public beta The initial release was on July 12. . iOS 17 is only supported on iPhone models equipped with the A12 Bionic chip or newer, meaning the iPhone XR/XS will be the oldest models to receive the update.
