Dolly Sohi Dhanowa was born on September 15, 1975 in Amritsar, Punjab. She is the daughter of Daljit Singh Sohi and Baljit Kaur. She has a brother named Lal Singh and her sister Aman Sohi is a television actress. Dolly attended MGM University of Health Sciences in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Career
Dolly made her debut in 2001 with the television series Kalash. She played the role of Rano in the series. In 2005 she played the lead role in the Star Plus series Bhabhi. Meanwhile, she also appeared in Kammal and Kkusum.
Dolly returned to the screen in 2012 with the television show Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna. She played the role of Queen Shazia of Yaman in the Indian fantasy television series The Adventures of Hatim. She played Rani Sakhu Bai in the historical drama serial Khoob Ladi Mardaani… Jhansi Ki Rani in 2019. Dolly has appeared in several television shows including Hitler Didi, Devo Ke Dev… Mahadev, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Pehwa Bajirao, Amma Ke. Babu Ki Baby and more. In 2022, she worked in the television shows Yeh Hai Chahatein and Kumkum Bhagya.
