The Delaware computer repairman who made public the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop says his house was “crushed” Friday night.
“My house was smashed tonight, I was not home, but the outstanding men and women of Wilmington Police responded quickly and professionally,” John Paul Mac Isaac posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, on the 29th. from December. “All that was accomplished was the waste of the Wilmington Police Department’s time. Swatting is the act of making a false report to emergency services to provoke a response in a particular direction.
The goal is to get authorities, particularly a SWAT team, to show up.
The Wilmington Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for information about the swatting call at Mac Isaac’s home.
Hundreds of cases of swatting occur annually, and some use caller ID spoofing to disguise their number.

The FBI said earlier this year that it had created a national database along with other law enforcement agencies to track swatting incidents across the country.
For months, police had reported a huge increase in false claims about active shooters at schools and universities.
There have also been reports of hundreds of smashing incidents and bomb threats against synagogues and other Jewish institutions since the war between Israel and Hamas began.
Suspects in swatting cases are being arrested and charged as states contemplate harsher penalties.

Mac Isaac filed a defamation lawsuit against Biden in October 2022.
Biden filed a countersuit in March, alleging that Mac Isaac unlawfully distributed Biden’s personal data and charged him with six counts of invasion of privacy.
Mac Isaac claims that a man he believed was Biden left three laptops at his store in 2019 and did not return for the laptop within 90 days, leaving the laptop abandoned per the store’s policy.
Mac Isaac was unable to contact the customer and said he first searched the emails by keyword in June or July 2019.
