A video of the unusual episode went viral on social media, showing the snake’s appearance in the cabin and a flight attendant’s attempts to capture it safely. Initially using a water bottle, the crew member eventually switched to a garbage bag to hold the snake.

The footage sparked reactions from users, with one user noting the striking resemblance to footage from the Snakes on a Plane video.

How did the airline react?

AirAsia Thailand confirmed the incident and stated that its crew was warned before the plane landed in Phuket. Phol Poompuang, the airline’s head of corporate security, told CNN that these cases are extremely rare and that flight attendants are adequately prepared to handle them.

“Prior to resuming operations, the aircraft was thoroughly cleaned and fumigated, as is routine protocol for this type of incident.

The safety and well-being of our guests and workers is always our top priority, and their safety was never in jeopardy,” Poompuang said.
