Missing pig named Kevin Bacon finally found after thanks from actor Kevin Bacon

A pig named Kevin Bacon who spent more than two weeks on the run in Pennsylvania is finally home thanks to some sticky buns, Benadryl and a thank you from his namesake, actor Kevin Bacon.

Chelsea Rumbaugh brought two-year-old, 200-pound sow Juliana to her farm in Cumberland Township on Oct. 13, but the next day the pesky pig had dug under her pen and escaped, she wrote on a Facebook page earlier. titled “Bring Kevin Home.”

“We were so close [to Kevin] my 16 year old son was petting him,” Rumbaugh wrote on the page. “He stayed close but eventually went into the woods.”

For the next two weeks, the pig spent its time wandering through the area’s woods, sometimes showing up at neighbors’ houses but evading capture.

Kevin left his pen on October 14 and was finally caught on Tuesday after wandering the area for weeks. Rumbaugh launched the Facebook page to alert local hunters and ask neighbors to help locate Kevin. The page soon took off and attracted thousands of followers concerned about the pig.

When award-winning actor Kevin Bacon heard about the pig on the loose, he stepped in to spread the word, posting on the Meta’s Thread app: “Bring Kevin home!”

Meanwhile, Kevin the pig continually wandered near the house, but snuck away whenever anyone approached.

“Kevin and I have been singing and dancing since 8:30 am,” Rumbaugh wrote on October 30, the day before he was recaptured.

“He approaches, I wait and then I approach him, he trots away. “He didn’t even ask to dance, I guess he just thought it sounded fun,” she wrote.

Frustrated, Rumbaugh decided to tie a sticky bun with benadryl in hopes that Kevin would fall asleep.

“They ate the Benadryl sticky bun and now I’m looking for a passed out pig somewhere. We saw him at 6:40 in the yard so I hope he’s close,” she posted on Tuesday.

Hours later, she posted a photo of Kevin in her pen: “He’s home.”

Now that he’s acclimating to his new home and socializing with his fellow pigs, Kevin will spend his time relaxing and eating some snacks, she said.

Rumbaugh also said that he is considering writing a series of children’s books based on Kevin’s adventures.

The Facebook page has since been renamed “Kevin’s Home Adventures,” documenting his everyday antics on the farm.
