Former UN ambassador Nikki Haley has criticized the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris becoming commander-in-chief if Democrats win in 2024, warning Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the idea should “send a chill down the spine of every American.”
The former South Carolina governor, in her appearance, warned against the election of former President Donald Trump, who faces multiple allegations and faces a series of lengthy and distracting legal battles.
“Donald Trump is a friend of mine. It was an honor to serve in the administration and work with him on foreign policy, and I agree with many of his policies. But the fact is that I don’t know if there are four, five or six or how many indictments there are now, but it will spend a lot of time in court and not in an electoral campaign, ”he said.
“My concern is that we can’t have Kamala Harris as president. We can’t risk this. We have to make sure we have a new generational leader who will appeal not only to Republicans, but also push back against Independents. We are going to bring back the women from the suburbs, we are going to bring back the Hispanics. We are going to bring the Asian community. We have to make sure we win this, because the thought of Kamala Harris being president should send shivers down the spine of every American.”
Haley, one of eight Republicans who appeared on the debate stage in Milwaukee last Wednesday, previously warned against Trump’s re-election, despite having previously worked in his administration.

After the debate, he told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that an armed justice system is behind Trump’s legal problems, and that a victory for the Republicans is crucial to fixing the problem.
“You can’t clean up Washington if Donald Trump is fighting issues of the past. We need a young conservative generation that will go and clean up what they have done to Donald Trump, but also move our country forward,” he told Hannity.
A recent Fox News poll showed that 53% of likely voters preferred Trump out of the Republican field, still holding a 37-point lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Haley took fifth off the field, but insists the race is far from over.

“Actually, this is just beginning,” he told Bartiromo on Sunday. “And so we’ve done 80 events in New Hampshire and Iowa. We’re going to continue to be there. We will be doing events in South Carolina all this week. We will continue to focus on touching as many hands as we can, answering every question.”
Haley emerged as one of the leading voices on abortion after Wednesday’s debate, where she called for a “consensus” on the issue.
On Sunday, he continued to push that Republicans should “humanize” the issue and tackle it head-on instead of running away.
“[Republicans need to]recognize that the problem is real. You know, I think I’ve always said I’m unapologetically pro-life, not because the Republican Party tells me to, but because my husband was adopted. I had problems to have my two children, that’s why I am surrounded by blessings…”
“When we talk about federal law, it’s just frustrating that no one is telling the American people the truth, that you need to have a House majority, that you need to have 60 votes in the Senate to pass a federal law. federal bill,” Haley added. “And that’s why no Republican president can ban abortions, any more than a Democratic president can ban those state laws. So if we really want to save as many babies as possible, if we want to support as many moms as possible, then let’s find a consensus on where we can do that.”
